Is it possible to use "Manual Specification" to create a new column that is not based on a field?

I would like an additional column that functions similar to the "Notes" column. Is it possible to create this, perhaps using a Manual Specification?

Could you please expand, what should the column contain and what should be its behavior? How much similar to "Notes" should it be?

The "Manual Specification" is an advanced, undocumented feature, which allows the developers and sometimes the users with the help of our support to set up a column with some unusual properties. However, we need to know what those properties should be before we can advise!
