test JIRA plugin under development

Donal Murtagh March 7, 2012

Following-on from this question which explains how to install a completed JIRA plugin, I'm wondering if there's a more efficient way to test a JIRA 4.0 plugin while it's under development>

Specifically I'd like to avoid restarting JIRA after each change, if possible.

Take a look at https://developer.atlassian.com/display/DOCS/Installing+the+Atlassian+Plugin+SDK

You run maven cli, then just run"pi" each time you are ready. Also look at fastdev.

4.0 had lots of problems with plugin reloading, either it would fail after a certain number of iterations, and some modules weren't reloaded at all. Try to use jira 4.4 for your development...
