FireFox menus have invalid urls (missing port)

Andrew Sumner October 12, 2011

I have just installed FishEye and am finding that when I try to navigate around it sometimes the port is being dropped off the URL and I end up getting the following error (well I do in FireFox, IE just didn't show anything):

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port.
Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.

eg Choosing the administration link results in http://svr20008/admin/admin.do rather than http://svr20008:8060/admin/admin.do

Can anyone advise how I can fix this?

Turns out the proxy settings had the port set to 80, nothing else was set. Not sure how that happened. Wasn't able to get rid fo that value through the settings page so had to resort to editing the config file.

If you haven't configured the SiteURL (see documentation) then FishEye will try and determine the correct base url for the instance. Occasionally this can be incorrect, depending on particular instance setups (for example, being behind a proxy or load balancer).

I have set that up, and it is suggesting a url without the port number - I have added the port number though. Even if I naviagte to http://svr20008:8060/admin manually it redirects to http://svr20008/admin/ and fails.

Hi Andrew,

This may be a bug - if you could open a support request at https://support.atlassian.com we would better be able to determine the cause of the problem and find a way to resolve it for you.

Thanks

No, or at least it shouldn't be using SSL. I am assuming the error message is a bit of a red herring.

The error you get about SSL doesn't really correspond with the port dropping off. Is part or all of fisheye using SSL?
