Hello,
We are trying to access our shared drive folders/files from Confluence in Windows and Ubuntu Linux. This is what we have found so far:
Ubuntu will open the local file link: file:///server/folderName when we mount a shared drive to the path"/server/folderName/"
and windows will work with the file link: file://server/folderName/ (as mentioned on your documentation) for a shared drive at "\\server\folderName"
We have the Wiki package MoinMoin up and running and have found that the following works with opening folders from both Windows and Ubuntu: file:///\\server\folderName
The problem is Confluence tries to be to smart and this link (file:///\\server\folderName) does not work. It does not allow you to set it this way. We also tried to use the various Confluence wiki-markup text with no luck: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Confluence+Wiki+Markup#ConfluenceWikiMarkup-Links
Is there a work around for this?
Is there a way to make an exception for the links in Confluence, so that it will allow the link file:///\\server\folderName?
Thank you,
We are trying to use Firefox and/or Chrome to get this working and use the LocalLinks extension to enable the browsers to follow the file:// links.
P.S. I also understand the browser problems found here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/21205/confluence-how-to-place-a-link-to-a-file-on-a-server-share-in-a-confluence-page
It might not be able to put the link to file server with "\" character due to these:
