Sandbox challenges

To pass the exam, technical knowledge of managing Jira projects is crucial, but it is not enough. The majority of exam questions are based on scenarios that must be understood, analyzed, and evaluated to find the correct answer that fits the stated constraints.
The following challenge will assist you in exploring a scenario with creating JQL statement. They will help to develop your approach and prompt you to investigate different methods and solutions as you prepare for the exam.

Create JQL statements

In this challenge, you will experiment with creating JQL statements. The results will depend on the issues created in the prior challenges. You may want to create new issues or edit existing issues to see different results.
  • Create a JQL statement with three clauses, only using the AND keyword.
    • Update the JQL statement to replace the last AND with the OR keyword. How did this impact the results?
    • Update the JQL statement again to include parentheses after AND with a set of clauses that includes OR. How did this impact the results?
  • Create a JQL statement using version-related functions: unreleasedVersions(), releasedVersions().
  • Create a JQL statement to search for NULL values in a field.
  • Create JQL statements with different field types to view the operators that are available for each.
    • Text fields
    • Date fields
    • User-related fields
    • Issue link-related fields
  • Search for the labels you created earlier that have different cases.
  • Create a JQL statement using a board filter or other saved filter in the statement.
  • Try to construct a complex JQL statement using the fields you populated in other challenges - Component, Color, Attachment, Report Name, etc.
  • Search for issues using WAS and CHANGED operators. What is the difference between them?
