Is it possible to put an automation rule when the status of an item is changed to a specific value (i.e. "Ready to Release")?
Only when the status is changed to "Ready to Release" I want to put a fix version on top of it. Wondering if this would be possible.
Hi @Martijn Abbink ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
Another possible solution is to use a PostFunction instead of an automation. You can add a pf on transition that move your ticket to "Ready for Release" in which you set a specific field value.
Hope this helps,
Fabio
Thank you for the warm welcome and the answer.
Do you have an example available how to do so? This sounds exactly what I need.

Hey @Martijn Abbink ,
take a look to the following article https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/best-practices-on-using-the-resolution-field-968660796.html

Could this be company managed? I do not have the "Add post function" option

Yes, it is possible. Please check examples - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library#/rule-list?systemLabelId=all&page=1&pageSize=20&sortKey=name&sortOrder=ASC

Maybe an additional question: but would it also be possible to add something to the fix version? With the automation rule it seems to "set' it , so the other fix version(s) are removed. (Maybe we misuse the field on our side).
