I am creating a portal where customers can raise issues, but I wanna make sure that our support engineers get an approval from the customer that the solution was satisfactory before the card is marked as closed. In the approval steps, I don't see requester as an option. Is there any way I can achieve this?

By design requestor doesn't usually approve. When requesting something, the requestor typically needs approval.
You can have a step in the workflow pending client verification or something like that as an option.
