Why is it not possible to filter custom fields with the datatype 'number' in Jira Plan Filters?

I have a Plan in Jira in which I included a custom field with the datatype 'number'. Now I want to add the field into the filter options of the timeline but it says "fields of this datatype could not be used in your plan". It's a normal field with a standard datatype. I cannot understand that it's not possible to filter for that field.

Hi,

Welcome to the community.

As stated by the documentation the plan support only 5 customfield type :

Your plan supports five custom field types as filters:

  • single-choice select

  • multiple-choice select

  • checkbox

  • radio button

  • label

Hi Mohamed,

thank your for your answer!

That's really disappointing. It does not sound that complicated to implement a normal integer to the plan as a field, but then I have to wait for Atlassian that they implement it.
