Hello @gopika_prabha

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What type of Space does this concern? Click the ... button next to the space name in the panel on the left. What are the last two lines in the pop-up? They will say something like this:

Software space
Company-managed

Both lines are important.

At a minimum you will need to contact a person who has Administrator permissions for the space. Depending on the Space type they may need to work with people who are Jira Administrators for your Jira instance.

Hi gopika_prabha,

If you are using a team-managed project, the Bug work item may currently have only a few visible fields by default.

To add Priority or Severity for Bug items, try this:

Open Project settings
Go to Issue types or Work types
Select Bug
Open Fields or Layout
Add the Priority field if available

For Severity, Jira usually does not include it by default, so you may need to create a custom field called Severity through Jira administration, then add it to the Bug layout.

A common approach is:

Priority = how urgently the team should work on it
Severity = how serious the impact of the bug is

Example:
Critical severity but low priority can happen if impact is high but workaround exists.

If you do not see options to create fields, you may need help from your Jira admin.
