Reorder Steps

Kira Anderson [ADMIN] March 6, 2025

I followed the below steps to re-order the status on my board, but the status are still not appearing correctly, nothing has appeared to have changed.

  1. Go to Jira settings, then Workflows.
  2. Find the workflow you want to edit. Under Actions, select More […], then Edit.
  • This will create a draft version of the workflow.
  1. For each transition:
  2. Select the transition you want to edit, and select Properties.
  3. In the Property Key field, enter opsbar-sequence .
  4. In the Property Value field, enter a number (0 or greater). This property determines the order in which each transition (and therefore, status) displays. A lower number means the transition will display higher.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Go back to the workflow and select Publish Draft.

Hi @Kira Anderson [ADMIN]

So what have you set as property values for the different transitions, but since the new issue view, this seems not to work anymore

See How-to-reorder-status-transitions-in-the-new-issue-view

I have the values set as 0,1,2,3,4,etc

Hi @Kira Anderson [ADMIN]

As mentioned in the linked article above, then new issues view (default view now) doesn't adhere to this property setting anymore

So how can I get it to reflect the status order correctly, i want it to show on the status as the same order I have in the workflow.Jira1.png Jira 2.png

Here is the order I want the status to appear, but they are not showing correctly on the dropdown even after adding the property key and value:

Hi @Kira Anderson [ADMIN] , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.

Do you mean to say that the columns in the board are not in the order that indicated in the workflow? This is a board setting, not something you need to indicate in the workflow itself.

Please can you share, anonymised is fine, some screens of what you are trying to achieve so we can help you better?

Thank you
