Is there a quick way to change the Issue Type of multiple iIsues at one time? Stories to Tasks.

kyle_bryceland April 8, 2020

I'm looking to change hundreds of issues in a backlog from Stories to Tasks, but so far I 've only worked out how to do one Issue at a time and doing so individually is quite time consuming involving a 4 step process and navigating back and forth between pages.

I'm specifically looking to select multiple stories at one time and then have the option to change Issue type from Story to Task.

Thanks!

Hi @kyle_bryceland -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Have you tried the bulk change feature?  You can either select multiple items from backlog and right-click, or create a filter for your issues to change and then select bulk change.  If you use the Move option you can change the issue types.

Here is some information on the feature:

Best regards,

Bill

Hi Bill,

Thanks very much for the tips. Was not aware of the option to select multiple items at once and that has really helped out. Along with your other suggestions.

Thanks again,

Kyle
