For a recurring weekly task I want to set up an automation time based rule, that creates an issue and moves it to the current sprint. This works fine but I also need to change the workflow status from "Open" to "ToDo". As soon as I add an "Transition Issue" component to my workflow I need to add jql to my trigger but I have no idea how to write an "give me the issue that this automation just created" jql statement. Any help?

Can you add another automation that triggers on issue created event and looks for issues matching the condition of given recurrent issue summary and then transition it to the desired status?

Adding JQL should not be needed for this use case. Can you share a screenshot of your rule? This will help us suggesting a suitable solution.
