Hello. I Have created a nice template in our Jira Servicedesk and when im cloning issue iin case on escalation for our Developers to JIRA Software project, the template will get totally messed up in case of formatting. Why is JIRA doing? It should be the same thing, but it will somehow totally make something different.
This is request in JSD with correct format
Here is the JIRA Software which is doing some weird things when the issue is cloned and descriptiuon is copied from JSD to Jira software.
Here is the automation
Can somebody tell me why and how i can get it copied without issues?
I have tried it with rest apis but there is problem with the screenshots..
Thank you!
Hello @František Vůjtek
As an alternative to Automation (that can be really complex sometimes), I can suggest trying our app Elements Copy & Sync. It allows you to perform issue escalation from JSD to Jira very easily. You can clone any type of issue field and synchronize the two issues together if needed.
Don't hesitate to check the documentation, it’s really quick and easy to set up.
This might be caused by some issues with the API Atlassian is using. We have encountered similar problems when upgrading our app to the REST API version 3.
If you don't want to wait for Atlassian to fix this and are willing to try a third-party app, our app Deep Clone for Jira can clone issues with their formatting intact.

Hi @František Vůjtek ,
JSM and Jira while they use the same platform, they are essentially different products due to which you might be seeing this behavior.
From the images that you provided it looks to me that this maybe a bug with the Jira Automation, since it should be able to perform the CLone 1:1 without any break in the formatting.
I would advice raising this as a bug to the support team here: https://support.atlassian.com/, so that they can investigate this behavior.
