As a part of a Jira clean up, I'm trying to use scriptrunner for Jira Cloud to search for specific issue types in archived projects and bulk move them to a different issue type. We need to do this to delete the issue types that are no longer needed.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Angel Mosqueda

It's not possible to bulk move issues from archived projects to new issue types using ScriptRunner.

  • There are several limitations to consider. For instance, Jira doesn't allow modifications to issues in archived projects, so you'd need to unarchive them first.
  • Additionally, while ScriptRunner can handle bulk operations, it's not recommended to change issue types in bulk due to potential configuration mismatches.

Furthermore, deleting issue types requires caution, as it can impact historical data and reporting.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
