Hello everyone!
With the latest Jira update, I noticed that categories now come with random colors. Does anyone know if there's a way to change these colors or set a specific pattern for certain categories? I’d like to maintain a fixed color scheme for better visualization, but I haven’t found an option for this.
If anyone has a solution or alternative, I’d really appreciate the help!
I'm not sure if this perfectly matches your requirements, but just to put it out there in case it is useful:
If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for conditional formatting. With conditional formatting, you can define conditions on your issues - e.g., based on their category - and if these conditions are fulfilled, set the color of either the entire issue row or a particular cell. This is how it looks in action:
This is really just one of a virtually endless number of possible views and reports; you have full control over which data you want to show and highlight.
I should also add that conditional formatting plays nicely with JXL's many other advanced features, such as e.g. support for configurable issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), or sum-ups.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hey @Luis Felipe Tomazela ,
You should be able to edit the colors in List view:
As far as I know, you can't define patterns or rules, though.
Regards,
Thorsten

Hello @Luis Felipe Tomazela
The newest feature that covers the changing of the colors is defining a format rule for your List view in your project. You can find a full guide here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-a-format-rule/
The rules can be defined either for rows or for columns.
