Hello Snehal,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

When you use Import/Export the data from the previous Instance is deleted and data from the previous Instance is deleted, this is expected as per Bamboo Import

  • The import process will delete your Bamboo installation and restore data from a previous export of Bamboo. This includes login data, so you will need to know an administration login in the Bamboo data to be imported.

Hello Snehal,

Sorry this won't work, you'll have to manually create the project the plans.

However there is a feature request raised for the same since a long time > https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-1223, however it has not got much traction probably because of Bamboo specs which does the same thing but in a different way.

Adding to what Shashank said , if you want to keep the data in instance b intact and then use data in instance b You can by pass the import/export option i.e If your current instance has grown too large and export/import does not work, you can still clone your instance by using an alternative backup and restore strategy.

a) Stop the original Bamboo instance.
b) Create a backup of the DB, rename it to DB backup of instance b
c) Backup the <bamboo-home> directory in the new instance
d) Transfer the compressed original <bamboo-home> directory from the old server to the new server where you installed the new Bamboo instance.
d) Replace the content of the new <bamboo-home> directory with the unzipped <home-directory> content.
e) Import the external database backup into the new DB instance
f) Start the new Bamboo instance.

yes, we are doing import/export only. but whenever we are trying for import data from A bamboo to B bamboo , current data which is present in B bamboo it will get revoke automatically and the data which present in A bamboo its get imported . but we want both
