Atlassian Intelligence for chart insights

Hey, everyone!

We’re introducing a new Atlassian Intelligence (AI) feature that gives generated chart insights to dashboard viewers. These insights can help to supplement your interpretation of the chart data.

You and your team can use AI to:

• Provide a brief description of the chart data
• Identify trends
• Highlight potential anomalies or areas of interest in a given chart

Activate AI to get started

Before you can use AI features, your organization admin must activate AI for Atlassian Analytics.

Note: Starting May 6, AI will be automatically activated for all products in Premium and Enterprise plans, including Atlassian Analytics. Organization admins will be able to opt out of this change through Atlassian Administration. More about activating AI.

To activate AI, your organization admin needs to do the following:

1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Settings > Atlassian Intelligence. You’ll see a table with any products that already have AI activated. This will be empty if your organization hasn’t activated it for any products yet.

3. Select Select products. You’ll see a list of the products in your organization that you can activate AI for. Only products that have AI features available are shown here.

4. Select Analytics from the list of products. If you’ve already activated AI previously for Atlassian Analytics, you won’t need to repeat these steps for those products. Discover more AI features available in other products.

5. Select Next, review your products, and accept the AI terms and conditions. Select Save to confirm.

Start generating chart insights

After your organization admin activates AI, you can start to generate insights for your charts by doing the following:

1. Open a dashboard in Atlassian Analytics.

2. Hover over the chart you’d like to generate insights for then select Insights. Note that Atlassian Intelligence doesn't generate insights for bubble map and map charts.

AI will use the chart data, chart title, and dashboard title to generate insights.

Best Practices to Generate Insights

AI will use the following information to generate chart insights:

• Dashboard title

• Chart title

• Chart data

  • Column headers

  • Values in all the rows

Use descriptive titles and column headers so AI can provide better insights for your charts.
