What is "my DNS service"?

donfox November 1, 2017

I'm attempting to set up a simple static website as per  the directions given with "Publishing a Website on BitBucket Cloud"

 https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/publishing-a-website-on-bitbucket-cloud-221449776.html

When I attempt to point my browser at the site I get "Repository not found"

In the documentation it says  "...your account's name must be acceptable to your DNS service."  I'm  not sure what this means.  DNS service is provided by the ISP(ATT&T) yes?

Thanks  for any Info.

Hi Don,

I realize this isn't formulated very clearly - what the article is trying to convey is that you need to make sure your account name doesn't contain any characters that are not acceptable for hostnames under the DNS standard.

In my case the name is just 'donfox@bitbucket.io'. Doesn't look like any unusual characters are present.

This should work just like any other URL? https://donfox@bitbucket.io gets a 'Repository Not Found'

Hi Don,

Your repository name needs to be donfox.bitbucket.io, and you need to make sure that's its name when you create it.
